Troubleshooting Common Problems With Light Fixtures call
Common Problems With Recessed Lights (Can Lights)

Recessed canister lights are subject to some of the same problems found in ordinary ceiling light fixtures. In addition, sometimes a recessed light fixture may mysteriously go on and of by itself. This is because recessed lights are equipped with limit switches designed to turn a fixture off automatically if the heat reaches an unsafe level. This can be for one of several reasons:

Check to see if the lightbulbs in the light fixture have the proper wattage for the light fixture. If the wattage is too high, it may be causing the fixture to overheat. Compare the wattage on the light bulb with the rating printed on the light fixture. Install a lower-wattage lightbulb, if necessary.
If insulation is packed too tightly around the light fixture, it may be trapping heat around the light fixture canister, causing the limit switch to overheat and shut down the light fixture. Make sure there is enough air circulation around the canister, which will prevent the fixture from overheating.
The limit switch may be faulty. If the light bulb wattage is correct and there seems to be proper ventilation around the light fixture, then consider replacing the limit switch or the entire light fixture.

Flickering Lights

If your lights are flickering, buzzing, or not turning on and off, it could mean that the wattage is wrong.

Alternatively, there may be a bad connection between the bulb and switch. If replacing the bulb doesn’t help,

Dutch Elektro will be able to establish the root cause and get your lights shining again.

We’ve all faced electrical faults in the home, and while sometimes it’s easy to find out the cause, most of the time it leaves us pretty baffled. And while there’s never a good time for electrical faults, it usually always happens at the worst possible time, and it can also be dangerous, too.  It goes without saying that you should always contact a certified electrician if you are ever concerned about the condition of the electrics in your home. Flickering lights can drive you up the wall but the cause of the problem can often be easier to identify than you think. For example, it could be:

A dimmer switch that’s not compatible
A loose connection somewhere in the circuit
A damaged cable which could be trapped under a floorboard which is losing connection every time someone treads on it
A broken light switch

Low beam switches
Low beam switches are a common source of flickering with LED lamps. Older dimmers and current conventional dimmers are designed for use with incandescent lamps and they often do not work well with LED lamps. If your LED is controlled by a dimmer, the simplest solution is to buy a solid “dimmable” LED lamp. If this does not resolve the problem, replace the old dimmer with a new one designed for LED lamps. You will still have to use dimmable LEDs, but the new switch will be optimized for LEDs and will probably offer you better performance. We can help you very well call us
